I have been interested in healing, mindset and why people get 'stuck' since I was a young child. I would listen to my mum blaming her parents for all the reasons why her life was an eternal struggle. And I used to think "How can someone that old (she was probably in her mid to late 30s 😂) blame their parents for everything that went wrong in their life?" Aren't adults responsible for themselves? It didn't make sense to me as a child.
Fast forward to the last few years and I now understand how our childhood (0-25 years) can have a huge impact on what is not going right in our lives. I am brave enough to say that I believe that dis-ease, addiction, relationship breakdowns, procrastination, not being able to ask for a raise or promotion plus much more can be traced back to childhood.
After a turbulent and misspent youth I began to take responsibility for my own healing, I did not want to follow in my mother's footsteps of 'blame'. I did of lot of yoga (over 25 years), meditation, chanting, therapy, mentoring, studying and coaching. I can't say that it was anyone of these things that created the biggest shift but rather a combination of all of them, coupled with a curiosity and passion to get the best out of myself and others.
I can say for certain what what helped me most, was having support. To have people in my life who believed in me, who weren't judgemental, who were kind, encouraging and patient. People who could 'see' me despite the layers I had accumulated from past traumas, core childhood beliefs, limiting beliefs and my rebellious nature, and who more importantly, shone the light for me to 'see' the true potential of myself also.
While yoga and meditation alone can achieve these results by allowing us to see our own blockages, limiting mindset and patterns of self sabotage, it can take a very, very long time, possibly even lifetimes. I love yoga but I love living life more.
This is why my preferred approach to achieving any of your goals, be it establish a yoga practice, losing weight, quitting smoking, breaking free from attracting toxic relationships, overwhelm or whatever is holding you back, is to begin with my 8 week program, where you will be supported in a judgement free zone while we work together to find out what you need to do.
